What happens when you cross a steady diet of various musical, cinematic and literary influences from various backgrounds, shake them up and pour them into a young girl growing up in the wilds of Northern Manhattan?
You get me, Lynn Yorke. I began writing at the age of 7 (a story about a child detective named Judy) and have been developing my love for storytelling through the lens of my multicultural, multilingual family and community. What comes out of all that is a desire to tell passionate love stories, sometimes mixing in suspense and thrills, or exciting science fiction, heart-pounding action and horror, as experienced by an array of diverse characters, many of whom could quote “The Godfather” by heart (but of course they won’t due to copyright).
I live in New York City with my family. If you happen to spot me on a park bench looking very serious with a pair of headphones on and gazing at a patch of grass or a tree, shhhh… I’m working.
